Continuing Education (CE)
CIAC holders complete 6 CE credits per year to maintain active status. One credit equals one contact hour of approved training.
What counts
- our core CE courses (annual ADA law update, DOJ guidance changes, WCAG version releases)
- our specialty modules (digital deep-dives, healthcare, hospitality, employment, expert-witness training)
- approved external training (IAAP, ABA accessibility CLEs, AIA continuing education in relevant topics)
- Member-led peer-review study groups (max 2 credits/year)
- Conference attendance at the annual ADAConsultant.org conference

Annual ADA Law Update Required
What changed in DOJ guidance, circuit court interpretations, and enforcement trends this year. 2 credits. $49 (included in CIAC Member dues).
WCAG 2.2 Deep Dive
New success criteria, reaffirmed 2.1 criteria, practical audit methodology for 2.2-targeted reports. 2 credits. $79.
Healthcare ADA Specialty
Exam tables, scales, patient portals, interpreter services. Counts toward CIAC+ Healthcare specialty. 4 credits. $99.
Hospitality + Food Service
Accessible room ratios, pool lifts, restaurant aisles, online reservation systems. Counts toward CIAC+ Hospitality. 4 credits. $99.
Title I Employment Accommodations
Reasonable accommodation, interactive process documentation, medical-inquiry limits. Counts toward CIAC+ Employment. 4 credits. $99.
Expert Witness Fundamentals
Report writing for litigation, deposition basics, admissibility under Daubert, courtroom demeanor. 2 credits. $79.
Logging your CE
Members log CE credits in the member portal. self-delivered courses log automatically. External courses require an upload of the completion certificate.
What happens if you fall behind
- Grace period: 60 days after your renewal anniversary to complete the credits.
- Probation: 60–180 days past deadline, credential shows "in renewal" status on verification.
- Lapsed: After 180 days, the listing moves to "lapsed" status and is hidden from search. Reinstatement requires back CE + a late fee.
